Incendii în Thassos, 2016 – relatări LIVE

Maine dimineata plecam spre Thassos, Golden Beach, avem bilet cu intrare din data de 14 septembrie, (miercuri) cei de la Agentia de Turism ne-au asigurat ca totul este sub control si ca putem pleca. Am vrut sa anulam rezervarea dar nu se poate, atata vreme cat partenerii lor din Grecia sustin ca situatia este sub control. Este prima data cand mergem in Thassos, dar ... ne-a cam pierit cheful. Din cate inteleg situatia nu este deloc sub control !!! tocmai au fost prezentate la stiri imagini cu insula in flacari.

in Golden Beach a fost si este ok in continuare.
situatia in general pe insula ESTE sub control.
se asigura de acest lucru localnicii, pompierii, armata. sunt elicoptere, avioane, masini si oameni adusi de pe continent. mai exista intr-adevar 2 poate 3 focare (pe surse), dar se lucreaza intens sa fie stinse.

atoz guides a postat acum cateva minute urmatoarele informatii. nu-i cunosc, dar zilele astea au fost o sursa foarte promovata:
"Report from around the island
We have spent the last 7 hours travelling around the island to most if not all the affected areas. We concentrated the majority of our time on accessing damage in the populated areas. We will be posting our report by area.
Rachoni – the fire seems to now under control with the area of burning still restricted to the valley beyond the ridge south of the island and across the slopes adjacent to it. When we visited the area, firefighting planes and helicopters were still constantly dousing the areas of burning and men and equipment were on the ground assisting. As far as we could ascertain and if conditions stay the same, the risk to the village is minimal.
Prinos – no properties were affected by the fires.
Kazaviti – one of the worst affected areas on the island with severe burning of the wooded areas on both sides of the road that leads from Prinos up to the village and on the slopes surrounding the village. As previously reported, around 13 properties in total have been destroyed, however what was amazing is that some properties that had been surrounded by the fire were still intact….a testament to the bravery of the firefighters and residents. The properties that have been lost were on the periphery of the village, with most of the village sustaining little or no damage. Our sympathy though is for those who have lost their homes in this beautiful village.
Sotiris – A small fire was underway near to the village when we visited and therefore did not enter the village. However, we were advised that this was a small fire and that it was under control.
Kalirachi – the village had been unaffected by the fires.
Theologos – the valley leading up to the village has sustained considerable burning and some properties here have been affected. However, we felt it was inappropriate at this time gaining closer access. As we neared Theologos it was apparent that considerable efforts had been employed here to prevent the fire storm reaching the village with major fire breaks having been constructed below and to the right of the village. These and considerable use of aircraft had prevented the fires reaching the village.
Whilst we were in this area, a major fire break-out was in progress in the valley which runs parallel to the access valley and to the north. Considerable resources of army personnel, aircraft and local volunteers were being drafted into the area to fight this new threat. However, as far as we could ascertain, this valley is thankfully uninhabited, although the fire in itself posed a threat of becoming out of control."

"Limenaria – unaffected by the fire. However, we should confirm that inland from the town in the surrounding hills, there were signs of fire damage.
Potos – unaffected by the fire.
Psili Ammos – unaffected by the fire.
As we neared Astris it was apparent that this is where the south moving conflagration finally reached the sea, with severe burning to both sides of the main circulatory road and leading right down to the shore. Here we sadly found a number of properties that had been destroyed, with almost complete destruction of the forest in this area.
The fire damage on both sides of the road continued all the way to Aliki, although the Monastery of Archangelo Michael was untouched and once again open to visitors, although all around was scorched earth.
At Aliki, the fire damage was still severe on both sides of the road and continued down to the shore. However, the beach area, tavernas and the peninsula were untouched, with as large a crowd of tourists as usual packing the beach.
From just past Aliki, all the way up the east coast and past Limenas (Thassos Town) back to Rachoni, there is no fire damage at all."

În acest moment 20:12 arde din nou pe deal lângă San Antonio Beach - Potos. Este în depărtare dar se vede că tot versantul dinspre Potos este în flăcări. Avioanele nu mai pot zbura. O să urmăresc și o să scriu dacă se schimbă ceva, fie în rău sau bine.

Pentru cei care inca se gandesc daca sa mai vina in Thassos in concediu: eu pot spune ca am ajuns astazi la orele 18:00 in zona Kinira. Din Limenas pana la cazare nu am vazut nici o urma de incendiu. Turistii se plimba linistiti, sunt la taverne. Nimeni nu pare speriat. Probabil ca atmosfera e diferita in zona de sud. Odata cu noi pe ferry au venit si alti pompieri. Erau relaxati! Nu pareau speriati, am vb cu ei si au spus ca totul e sub control. Este prima vacanta in Thassos si speram sa nu ne dezamageasca!
Gazda noastra de la pensiune ne-a sugerat sa evitam zona de sud, mai jos de Paradise beach. Cel putin pentru urmatoarele 2 zile. Nu pentru ca am fi in pericol. E doar o sugestie!
